  • UTI

    A urinary tract infection is an infection in the urinary system and is very common among seniors. For most people, a UTI is an annoying, slightly painful yet treatable condition. For seniors, UTIs that aren’t treated promptly can lead to more serious complications quickly.

  • Dementia

    Dementia is not a disease. Dementia is an umbrella term to classify many different variations of memory loss and more than 55 million seniors live with dementia worldwide.

  • Heart Disease

    Heart disease is a term that describes several conditions that affect the heart. Most common among seniors is congestive heart failure, which is a later stage when the heart has weakened significantly.

  • Diabetes

    Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes. It occurs when the body does not use insulin properly and as a result, blood sugar levels can become too high. It’s estimated that 33% of seniors have diabetes.

  • Stroke

    There are many types of strokes, but a stroke occurs when blood flow is interrupted and can’t reach a part of the brain. 75% of strokes affect people 65 or older and the chance of having a stroke doubles every decade after 55 years old.

  • Parkinson’s Disease

    Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive, neurodegenerative disorder that affects seniors nervous system. Approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease each year.
