Pet Companionship and Pet Volunteers

Our furry friends provide support to our patients by visiting patients wherever they call home.

Pets have a long-standing history of providing faithful companionship. These loyal animals are one of the best sources of comfort for any human, including hospice patients and their families. Hospice volunteers with trained pet companions can provide a wide range of physical, emotional, and social benefits to patients and their families.

Meet Angela J. and her visiting companion, Giorgio. Angela has been providing support to our patients in the Clinton Twp. area with Giorgio, a loving and HUGE Saint Berdoodle (Saint Bernard/Poodle Mix). Giorgio loves attention and can’t help but stop for pets and love as they go.

One happy patient stated, “You were truly sent to bring me joy today!”
